Every year we mark Ban Live Exports: International Awareness Day on June 14th to remind the world that animals are not cargo. They are sentient beings who should not be forced to endure grueling journeys for days and even weeks only to be slaughtered on arrival, or fattened in often inhumane conditions.
We need your help!
To raise awareness and gather momentum, this Ban Live Exports: International Awareness Day (June 14th) we’re calling on supporters to share our campaign video and interact with our social media posts with the hashtag #BanLiveExports.
By doing this we can show governments around the world that people want an end to this barbaric trade.
Ban Live Exports International Awareness Day 2024
Why take part?
CIWF UK already pulled off a momentous achievement this year, with Great Britain legally banning live exports for fattening or slaughter in May 2024 after decades of relentless campaigning against the practice. It’s thanks to your support that this was able to happen.
However, the fight is far from over.
With millions of sheep, calves, pigs, cows and other animals around the world still being subjected to this cruel trade, packed into overcrowded trucks and ships, becoming increasingly exhausted, dehydrated and stressed, and many dying as a result of the cruelty, we need your help more than ever. In the United States, animals are transported on trucks for over 24 hours without food or water. In Hawai'i, calves less than a year old are shipped from the island to the U.S. mainland on container ships, which can take several days.
Help us end this cruel and unnecessary trade
It takes just two minutes to spread the word, but the power of our collective voice can enact real, lasting change for vulnerable animals.
It’s time for the rest of the world to follow Great Britain’s lead.
We’d be so grateful if you could share CIWF's video and get the hashtag #BanLiveExport trending!
